Messages from the Electronic Health System (EHCS) containing confirmation codes, e-prescription numbers, or e-referral numbers will be sent to Viber starting February 20, 2025. SMS will remain as a guaranteed delivery channel for such messages. These changes have been made possible by amendments to the CMU Resolution No. 411 “Certain Issues of the Electronic Health System” dated April 25, 2018.
If a patient has Viber, messages from EHCS will primarily be sent through this communication channel.
If a patient does not have Viber, they will receive an SMS.
The next stage for EHCS message delivery will be push notifications through the Diia app. We will provide additional information about this as well.
What if the patient does not have a phone?Patients who do not have a phone will continue to receive an information notice.
When registering in the electronic health system for patients who do not have a phone, with the patient authentication method “by documents,” the doctor creates an e-prescription, e-referral, and prints an information notice that duplicates the same information as in the e-prescription or e-referral, along with an additional confirmation code.
If authentication is chosen through another person (for children under 14 or for legally incompetent persons as an additional method of authentication), the message will be sent to one of the parents or the legal representative.
