The Infectious Diseases Department has been an integral part of the Nemiriv City Hospital since its establishment many decades ago, now incorporated into the Nemiriv Municipal Hospital. Located in a standard facility, the department operates with 20 beds and box-type wards.
Over the years, the department has successfully treated thousands of patients from various parts of Ukraine, demonstrating professionalism in managing infectious diseases. It has faced numerous challenges, including outbreaks of measles, chickenpox, rubella, gastrointestinal diseases, acute hepatitis A, the H1N1 influenza pandemic in 2009, and others. In 2020, the department was among the first to respond to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak, dedicating maximum efforts to combat the pandemic. The onset of the full-scale war in February 2022 heightened awareness of risks and mobilized the team for dedicated work on the medical front.
The department is equipped with modern medical equipment, including patient monitors, pulse oximeters, oxygen concentrators, electrocardiographs, nebulizers, and a centralized oxygen supply system. It maintains essential stocks of medications such as antibiotics, antivirals, anticoagulants, and other necessary infusion solutions to ensure effective treatment.
The infectious diseases department's team continually strives for professional development and adheres to modern standards of medical care, ensuring transparency, timeliness, and high-quality medical services. Their efforts are focused on continuous improvement and achieving the best outcomes for their patients, with an individualized approach to meet each patient's needs.
All these efforts are aimed at improving public health and restoring the health of patients in need of infectious disease care.
