The Traumatology Department is located on the 5th floor of the inpatient block of the Nemiriv City Hospital. The department is equipped with 20 beds and includes 1 planned operating room, 1 emergency operating room, modern operating tables, arthroscopic equipment, a cardio monitor, lung ventilation devices, 1 dressing room, and 1 manipulation room.
The department provides a full range of therapeutic, diagnostic, and preventive care to patients with orthopedic conditions and injuries. It offers both planned and emergency medical care to residents of Nemiriv City, Vinnytsia Oblast, and other regions of Ukraine.
The department operates around the clock with a team consisting of:
- 2 orthopedic traumatologists
- 4 senior ward nurses
- 1 senior dressing nurse
- 5 operating room nurses
- 5 junior ward nurses
- 2 junior operating room nurses
The physicians and nurses of the department are highly qualified professionals with extensive experience. They continuously improve their professional skills and maintain a disciplined approach to their duties. Regular training sessions contribute to their ongoing development.
Collaboration with all hospital departments is integral to the department's operations.
The Traumatology Department employs modern surgical treatment methods including:
- Osteosynthesis of bone fractures (excluding pelvis, spine, and skull) using modern metal constructions (locking compression plates (LCP) for blocking screws, intramedullary locking nails, external fixation devices)
- Restoration of tendon integrity (primary and secondary)
- Corrective osteotomies for acquired bone deformities
- Dermatoplasty with free skin grafts using modern electrodermatome for skin defects
- Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) with VAC systems of varying power, which significantly accelerates wound healing by stimulating healing processes and constant wound cleansing
- Knee arthroscopy for meniscal injuries
- Minimally invasive removal of foreign bodies of metallic density using magnets under the control of a modern digital electronic-optical converter
Additionally, the department employs the following treatment techniques:
- Intra-articular plasma therapy for degenerative joint diseases
- Intra-articular injections of hyaluronic acid preparations for degenerative joint diseases
- Ozone therapy for degenerative joint diseases and chronic non-healing wounds
