Ultrasonic diagnostics is one of the most widespread types of instrumental examinations used in medical practice. This method is based on the use of ultrasound waves to visualize internal organs and tissues of the body.

The wide adoption of ultrasonic examinations is associated with numerous advantages of this method. Ultrasonic diagnostics is a relatively simple and accessible method that can be used repeatedly, sometimes even several times within a single day if necessary. The method is considered safe, including for pregnant women and children, as it does not use ionizing radiation. Ultrasonic examinations are conducted in real-time mode, allowing for the evaluation of dynamic processes, such as assessing blood flow using Doppler studies.

At the Nemyriv City Hospital, there are 2 ultrasound rooms: one located on the first floor of the inpatient building, and the other in Room No. 27 of the outpatient clinic.

The ultrasound rooms are equipped with modern ultrasound machines, including the necessary set of probes and Doppler visualization modes. Ambulatory and inpatient ultrasound examinations are performed upon the recommendation of the attending physician.

There are 3 ultrasound doctors:

  • Oksana Oleksandrivna Samilyak - Senior Category Ultrasound Doctor, with 15 years of experience.
  • Vasyl Ivanovych Voznyuk - First Category Ultrasound Doctor, with 34 years of experience.
  • Anna Valeriivna Tryhub - Specialist Ultrasound Doctor, with 2 years of experience.

The ultrasound doctors conduct the following examinations:

  • Abdominal ultrasound (liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, etc.)
  • Kidney and bladder ultrasound
  • Prostate and pelvic organ ultrasound
  • Pelvic ultrasound in women, including for pregnancy-related purposes
  • Breast ultrasound
  • Thyroid ultrasound
  • Echocardiography (heart ultrasound) using Doppler modes
  • Pleural cavity ultrasound
  • Lymph node ultrasound (abdominal and peripheral)
  • Joint ultrasound
  • Salivary gland ultrasound
  • Soft tissue ultrasound

If necessary, ultrasound doctors conduct ultrasound examinations in the wards of inpatient departments using portable ultrasound machines. They closely collaborate with doctors from other structural units of the Nemyriv City Hospital to enhance the quality of diagnostic and treatment processes. The ultrasound doctors adhere to quality standards in conducting ultrasound examinations.

The ultrasound doctors continuously improve their professional level through continuous professional education measures, including attending medical conferences.
