X-ray studies are the most widely used method of visualization in medical practice.

The origin of radiology is attributed to the discovery of a new type of radiation that occurs during the operation of a cathode tube. Until recently, this discovery was officially credited to the German physicist W.K. Roentgen.

Radiology today is a thriving medical science that actively helps humanity diagnose up to 90% of various diseases.

The development of radiology is based on the technical improvement of X-ray equipment, as well as devices from other radiation studies (ultrasound machines, computer tomographs, MRI machines, thermal imagers).

The first X-ray department in the Nemiriv district was opened in 1946.

The first radiologist was Mykhailo Ivanovych Humenyuk.

During the operation of the X-ray departments of the Central Regional Hospital, radiologists worked: I.V. Kolotelo, D.I. Tryhubchak, M.V. Dyvinsky, A.N. Mazur, O.M. Dvanenko.

X-ray examinations were carried out using a cryptoscope - a method of X-ray examination of the chest organs or bones.

In the 1950s, the X-ray base of medical and prophylactic institutions began to expand.

The first stationary X-ray machine, RUM-4, was installed at the polyclinic of the Nemiriv Central Regional Hospital.

In the 1970s, the network of stationary X-ray rooms in the district expanded to 7, including 2 fluororooms. These X-ray rooms were staffed with 7 radiologists, including 4 at the Nemiriv Central Regional Hospital.

The scope of radiological techniques expanded, and by the 1980s, the X-ray departments of the Central Regional Hospital conducted the same studies as the regional hospital, including contrast studies of bronchi, digestive organs, urinary system, and fistulography.

Currently, the Nemiriv City Hospital operates 2 stationary X-ray rooms, where on average 22,000-25,000 X-ray examinations are performed annually, with about 50% of these being chest cavity X-ray examinations.

The polyclinic's X-ray department primarily serves patients who seek medical assistance in the outpatient clinic and during preventive examinations of healthy patients. The X-ray department operates from 8:00 to 14:00.

The department is equipped with a universal X-ray system Polistat M and a digital mammographic system Luna 8100B. Patients are attended by Dr. Mural Khi, a radiologist with 1 year of experience. Radiology technicians work according to a schedule.

The stationary X-ray department is located on the 1st floor, left wing.

The X-ray department operates around the clock.

Radiology technicians perform X-ray examinations upon referrals from attending physicians and residents.

Adjacent to the X-ray department, a computed tomography scanner is installed.

From 8:00 to 14:00, patients are served by Dr. V.M. Zhmud, a radiologist with 46 years of experience and the highest category.

In the operating traumatological department, a digital diagnostic X-ray machine (mobile) Xplus 35 is installed. X-ray examinations in wards and intensive care units, if necessary, are carried out using the mobile digital MobiEye 700.

X-ray examination results are processed during the working shift, but no later than the next day after the patient's visit.

Radiologists and X-ray technicians improve their professional level through advanced training courses and continuous professional education measures.
